Ghertner & Company Biodiversity Project

The Biodiversity Project was established in 2019 to document the wildlife species the Ghertner & Company arboretum attracts. The project aims to show the connection between native plants and the beneficial creatures they feed, protect, and shelter. Over 100 species of beneficial wildlife have been documented using the website iNaturalist.org.

iNaturalist is a community science platform hosted by the California Academy of Sciences and National Geographic Society with user-friendly identification tools. It is a great educational tool for observers and helps researchers and conservationists. Over 4,000 scientific papers have been published using iNaturalist data.
