Scott F. Ghertner, CPM, PCAM, CCIM
President
Scott graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas in 1989 where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Real Estate and Urban Land Development. He worked for two years at Trammell Crow Residential in Atlanta, Georgia before returning to Nashville to work at Ghertner & Company in 1991. In 2002, Scott and his brother assumed ownership and management of Ghertner & Company.
Scott's focus at Ghertner & Company is development of new business and management of current clients and Community Association Portfolio Managers. Scott was the 1998 President of Greater Nashville Chapter 71 of the Institute of Real Estate Management. He served as the 2001 President of the Tennessee Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). He currently serves on the Legislative Action Committee for CAI.
Steven A. Ghertner, CPM
Co-President Emeritus
Steve graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1988, he earned his Masters of Science in Management from Georgia Institute of Technology and completed the Graduate Certificate Program in Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems.
Steve worked from 1987 through 1993 at the Clorox Company as a Senior Engineer where he was responsible for the electrical and computer control systems for a continuously operated industrial facility. Steve joined Ghertner & Company as a Vice-President/Property Manager in 1993. In 2002, Steve and his brother assumed ownership and management of Ghertner & Company. Steve’s focus at Ghertner & Company was company operations and management information systems while he served as Co-President with his brother. Steve retired from Ghertner & Company in September 2023

Betty Corvin, RHM, COS, ARM, CPM Candidate
Regional Property Manager
Betty has been a valued member of Ghertner & Company’s apartment management division for over 30 years. A native of Kentucky, she brings extensive experience and deep industry knowledge to the team. Betty holds several professional certifications, including Registered Housing Manager (RHM), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), and Accredited Residential Manager (ARM). She is also a Certified Property Manager (CPM) candidate. These credentials were awarded by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the National Center for Housing Management (NCHM). Her educational background includes studies at Elizabethtown Community College and the A-Pass Weikel Institute. Betty has also made significant contributions to the industry, serving on the Kentucky HUD Multi-Family Housing Conference Committee. In recognition of her outstanding work, she was named Regional Apartment Manager in 2014.
Jennifer Henry
Director of Human Resources
Jennifer has brought over 15 years of professional human resources experience to Ghertner & Company. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Development from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master’s of Arts in Human Resources Development from Tusculum College. As a certified HR professional, Jennifer has a strong background in talent management, employee relations, training and development, and organizational effectiveness. Her strategic approach to HR supports both employee engagement and operational excellence. Jennifer joined Ghertner & Company in 2021, where she plays a key role in leading human resources initiatives and supporting the company's continued growth and commitment to a positive workplace culture.
Andrew L. Jackson, Jr.
Director of Information Technology
Andrew brings extensive experience in strategic and operational technology planning, IT infrastructure design and implementation, enterprise architecture, project management, and process improvement. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration. Andrew joined Ghertner & Company in 2016 as the Director of Information Technology, bringing with him a strong track record of technical leadership and cross-industry experience in the field of Information Technology. Beyond his role at Ghertner & Company, Andrew serves on the board of the Nashville Rescue Mission, where he applies his expertise and leadership to support community outreach and development efforts.
Jaye Kloss, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Director of Social Media & Marketing
Jaye studied Business Management at San Diego University, where she developed a solid foundation in financial and accounting principles—skills that have proven essential throughout her career. She holds multiple industry credentials, including Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS), and the prestigious Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation. These certifications reflect her dedication to professional excellence and leadership within the community association management industry. Now, as Director of Social Media & Marketing, she continues to leverage her skills to strengthen community engagement and brand presence.
Kent Knapp
Director of Ghertner Maintenance & Remodeling
Kent holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Michigan State University and brings over 25 years of comprehensive experience in the construction industry. His background spans single-family custom home building, multi-family housing developments, light commercial construction, and large-scale remodeling projects. Known for his attention to detail, commitment to quality craftsmanship, and ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, Kent has earned a reputation for excellence across diverse construction environments. Since joining Ghertner & Company in 2013 as Director of Ghertner Maintenance & Remodeling, Kent has overseen all aspects of the division’s maintenance operations. His strategic guidance has been instrumental in expanding the division’s capabilities and earning the trust of clients throughout Middle Tennessee.
Angie Petty, CPA
Controller
Angie is a seasoned finance and accounting professional with over 30 years of experience in both privately and publicly held companies. She holds a Master of Arts in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Business, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Angie has worked across a broad range of industries including healthcare, distribution, and global outsourcing — bringing deep expertise in financial controls, process improvement, and the development of scalable systems that drive sustainable growth.Since joining Ghertner & Company in 2022, Angie has played a key role in strengthening the company’s financial operations and contributing to its long-term strategic planning. She is proud to apply her experience and leadership in support of a successful, locally owned organization.
Henry Puckett, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Realtor
Director of Developer Relations
Henry brings over 30 years of experience in real estate and property management to his role. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Accounting from Emory & Henry College and is a licensed real estate broker in Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama. In addition, he is a licensed Realtor and holds several industry designations, including Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS), and the prestigious Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) credential. Before joining Ghertner & Company in 2008, Henry spent over seven years with Wyndham Vacation Resorts, managing properties in high-profile locations such as the Smoky Mountains, St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands), San Antonio, Texas, and Nashville, Tennessee. His diverse experience reflects a blend of operational excellence and a strong focus on client service.
Dorothy Ratliff, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Director of Business Development
Dorothy brings over 30 years of experience in condominium and association management to her role at Ghertner & Company. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from the University of Alabama and has built a career marked by leadership, professionalism, and a deep understanding of the industry. Before joining Ghertner & Company in 2014, Dorothy successfully owned and operated her own rental and association management business, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and strong operational expertise. She holds several respected industry certifications, including Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS), and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM). Her extensive experience, industry knowledge, and community involvement make her a valued leader and an integral part of the Ghertner & Company team.
Dr. Angela K. Stone, CMCA, AMS
Director of Education & Development
earned her Doctor of Education in Foundations and Curriculum from Tennessee State University and holds key industry certifications, including Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Association Management Specialist (AMS). Her academic background, combined with extensive experience in property management, reflects a deep commitment to professional excellence and effective leadership. Angela joined Ghertner & Company in 2016 and was promoted to Community Association Manager Team Leader in 2019, a role in which she oversees a team of community association managers. She is responsible for ensuring high standards of service, fostering strong client relationships, and promoting clear and effective communication across the teams she leads. Angela’s contributions continue to enhance client satisfaction and support the ongoing growth and success of Ghertner & Company.
Kathleen Sutherland, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Director of Board & Outreach Training
Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Nazareth College of Rochester and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Government from the University of Manchester, England. She has earned the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS), and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designations from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Specializing in condominium community management, Kathleen joined Ghertner & Company in 2001 and became the company’s first Manager Team Lead in 2003. She played a pivotal role in developing the company’s Leadership Training Program for Board members and created a specialized course for real estate professionals focused on community associations. Kathleen’s commitment to the industry extends beyond the company. She served six years on the CAI Tennessee Chapter Board of Directors and was Chapter President in 2007. Her leadership and expertise continue to influence both Ghertner & Company and the broader community association management industry.
Deborah Wallace, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Director of Administration
Deborah is a dedicated professional holding the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Association Management Specialist (AMS) designations. She attended Tennessee State University and brings over ten years of property management experience, complemented by more than thirty years in administrative support. This unique combination of skills has been vital in supporting both her team and the communities she serves. Deborah joined Ghertner & Company in 2005, initially assisting Community Association Managers while managing a condominium community. In 2010, she was promoted to full-time Community Association Manager, and in 2015, she advanced to her current role as Community Association Manager Team Leader & Administration.
Theodora Winkler
Director of Accounting - Community Association Management
Theo graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She joined Ghertner & Company in 1986 as part of the Finance and Accounting Department and has steadily progressed within the company to lead the Community Association Management Accounting Division. In her current role, Theo oversees all accounting and financial services for the condominium and homeowner associations managed by Ghertner & Company. Her deep accounting expertise, combined with a thorough understanding of community association operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, effective budget management, and strict regulatory compliance for the associations she serves. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence, Theo plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health and transparency that clients depend on, significantly contributing to the firm’s reputation and ongoing success.
