Position Title:  

Accounts Receivable Specialist I  

Position Purpose: 

Provide superior customer service by providing financial, administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of accounts under his or her control; Ensures accurate and timely research & reporting of homeowner account status

Primary/Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Maintain up-to-date homeowner information within accounting system

  2. Perform billing, collection and applying payments according to specific deadlines

  3. Research and ensure accuracy maintained on homeowner accounts

  4. Accurately and timely research on homeowner queries

  5. Monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities

  6. Assign and provide appropriate documentation for delinquent accounts to legal/collection team and/or attorney

  7. Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash etc

  8. Follow up, collection and allocation of payments

  9. Assist legal/collection team with accurate and timely research concerning delinquent account information

  10. Accurately and timely process of homeowner account adjustments

  11. Accurately and timely process of homeowner due increases, including updating account information

  12. Communicating with customers (internal and external) via phone, email, mail or personally

  13. Perform the duties of back-up receptionist

  14. Other duties or projects as assigned

 Knowledge & Skill Requirements: 

  • BS Degree in accounting or related field and/or equivalent industry experience (Minimum of three years’ experience with proven job responsibility progression)

  • Be able to work independently and in a team environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient in relevant computer applications

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
